❄ Localised Cryotherapy
Mobile cryotherapy is a recovery and wellness service where a practitioner brings professional-grade cryotherapy equipment directly to your location — a sporting event, workplace, corporate office, or home. Mobile Cryotherapy Brisbane uses the America Cryo SubZero device to deliver localised CO₂ cryotherapy at -110°C, without you needing to visit a clinic. Sessions run 60 to 120 seconds per area and require no downtime.
Localised cryotherapy applies pressurised CO₂ gas at -110°C to a targeted area of the body. The rapid temperature drop creates a thermal shock that triggers vasoconstriction (blood vessels narrow, reducing inflammation) followed by vasodilation (blood rushes back with oxygen and nutrients). This two-phase response reduces pain, flushes inflammatory waste, and accelerates the body's natural healing process. Each area takes 60 to 120 seconds. Most clients feel immediate pain relief and reduced swelling.
Ice packs cool the surface slowly and unevenly. Whole-body cryo chambers expose your entire body to nitrogen vapour. Localised CO₂ cryotherapy precisely targets a specific area at -110°C in seconds, creating a deep thermal shock that ice cannot replicate. Unlike whole-body chambers, it carries no oxygen displacement risk and gives precise control over exactly which area is treated — injury sites, the face, joints, or specific muscle groups.
A sharp, intense cold — similar to holding ice but faster and more penetrating. Most clients describe it as invigorating rather than painful. The cold sensation fades within moments after the device moves on. Many people feel an immediate loosening and relief in the treated area. The device is non-contact, meaning it never touches the skin.
None. You return to normal activity immediately after treatment. No redness, bruising, or recovery period. Athletes use it between games at tournaments, and workers use it on their break and return to their shift straight after.
Many clients feel results after a single session — particularly for acute pain, post-training soreness, or swelling. For chronic conditions like tendinopathy or recurring strains, 4 to 6 sessions combined with shockwave therapy typically produces the most significant lasting results. Your practitioner advises based on your specific situation at the first session.
Yes. The Headache Killer treatment applies the cryotherapy device to the neck, base of skull, and temples for a quick $10 session. The cold reduces tension and inflammation in these areas, which are common contributors to tension headaches and post-training head pressure. Many athletes use this at events between games for fast relief.
Yes — reducing inflammation and muscle soreness is the primary application. The -110°C thermal shock triggers vasoconstriction, which limits the inflammatory response at the treatment site. After training, metabolic waste including lactic acid accumulates in muscles. Cryotherapy accelerates its removal by flushing the area with fresh oxygenated blood through the vasodilation response. Combined with an ice bath for systemic recovery, the effect on delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is significant.
The America Cryo SubZero device — a professional-grade localised cryotherapy system delivering pressurised CO₂ gas at temperatures as low as -110°C. It weighs 2.2 pounds, is fully portable, features an interactive LCD screen and a distance sensor for safe precise application, and is used in medical spas and sports recovery facilities internationally. The nozzle is non-contact — it never touches the skin.
💥 Shockwave Therapy
Radial shockwave therapy (RSWT) delivers high-energy acoustic pulses to targeted tissue using a handheld device. The pulses break down scar tissue, stimulate blood flow, and trigger the body's natural collagen production and repair process. It treats: plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, patellar tendinopathy (jumper's knee), hamstring tendinopathy, rotator cuff issues, tennis and golfer's elbow, shin splints, and chronic muscle tightness with scar tissue.
It produces a deep tapping or thudding sensation, which can be intense over chronic or tender areas. Most clients rate it as uncomfortable but tolerable. The intensity is fully adjustable — your practitioner starts conservatively and increases based on your feedback. Any soreness after the session typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours. Many clients notice improved function and reduced pain in the days after treatment.
The Cryo and Shockwave Combo ($40) is the most effective protocol. Shockwave breaks down scar tissue and initiates the healing cascade in chronic tissue. Cryotherapy immediately following flushes inflammation and provides deep pain relief. Together they achieve results neither therapy produces alone. Clinical studies show 62% of patients treated with the combined protocol returned to their previous level of sport. The combo session takes 20 to 30 minutes.
Shockwave is not suitable for people with: a pacemaker or implanted electronic device near the treatment area, active blood clots or coagulation disorders, a cortisone injection at the site within the last 6 weeks, cancer or tumours in the treatment area, open wounds or acute inflammation at the site, pregnancy near the treatment area, or growth plate injuries in children. If unsure, consult your GP before booking.
🧊 Ice Baths, Compression & More
Ice baths rapidly lower core body temperature after intense output, reducing systemic inflammation and flushing metabolic waste including lactic acid. Benefits include: reduced DOMS, faster recovery between training sessions or games, reduced joint and soft tissue swelling, and improved mental resilience. Mobile Cryotherapy Brisbane maintains multiple tubs at sub-4°C with advanced chilling and filtration for consistent hygiene. Sessions run 10 minutes.
Compression therapy uses pneumatic sleeves for legs, arms, and torso to apply sequential pressure mimicking the body's natural muscle pump. This drives venous blood and lymphatic fluid toward the heart, removing metabolic waste and reducing swelling. Benefits: reduced DOMS, faster lymphatic drainage, decreased fluid build-up after long periods of standing, and improved circulation to tired muscles. Sessions run 20 minutes. Boots, arm, and trouser attachments available.
A cryo facial uses the SubZero device with three nozzles: a fog spray for broad surface cooling, a fine spray for targeted areas including under-eyes, cheeks, and forehead, and a flat contact nozzle for smoothing and depuffing. The cold stimulates vasoconstriction then vasodilation in the skin, boosting collagen production, reducing puffiness and inflammation, and tightening the skin. Clients leave with an immediate visible glow. Treatment takes 5 to 15 minutes with zero downtime. Arriving without makeup is recommended, though spray-only treatment can be provided if needed.
Red light therapy (photobiomodulation) uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate tissue and stimulate cellular repair, reduce inflammation, and improve collagen production. It works well after cryotherapy — cryo reduces acute inflammation while red light supports deeper cellular healing. Sessions run 20 minutes. Used for skin health, muscle recovery, and joint pain management.
⚠ Safety & Contraindications
Yes, when administered by a trained practitioner after contraindication screening. Mobile Cryotherapy Brisbane screens every client before treatment using a digital consent and contraindication form. The service holds $10,000,000 AUD Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance (ABN: 74 922 885 813). Cryotherapy is not suitable for certain conditions — see below.
Cryotherapy is not suitable for people with: Raynaud's Disease, cold urticaria (cold-induced hives), a pacemaker or serious heart condition, uncontrolled high blood pressure, active blood clots (DVT) or blood-thinning medication, open wounds or active skin infections in the treatment area, current pregnancy (abdominal or lower body treatment), a cortisone injection within the last 6 weeks at the treatment site, anti-wrinkle or filler injections within the last 14 days (facial treatments), nerve damage or loss of sensation in the treatment area, or cancer or tumours near the treatment area. If unsure, consult your GP before booking.
Varicose veins are a vascular condition — cryotherapy does not treat the underlying vein issue and may not be appropriate depending on severity. We recommend speaking with your GP first. Compression therapy, which we also offer, is generally well-regarded for managing varicose vein-related discomfort and swelling and may be a better option.
Yes. Mobile Cryotherapy Brisbane holds $10,000,000 AUD Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance. ABN: 74 922 885 813. A signed Consent and Liability Waiver is required from all clients before treatment commences. Every session includes digital contraindication screening.

The Rapid Reset Protocol is the signature 10 to 12 minute dual-modality treatment combining radial shockwave therapy with localised CO₂ cryotherapy. Shockwave breaks down scar tissue and initiates tissue repair. Cryotherapy immediately following flushes inflammation and provides deep pain relief. Designed for workers and athletes who need to return to activity immediately. It is the core protocol used at the Oakey Beef Exports weekly onsite program.
Musculoskeletal injuries are the leading cause of WorkCover claims in physically demanding industries. Minor niggles left untreated escalate into serious claims. The Rapid Reset Protocol targets early-stage complaints with shockwave therapy (addressing scar tissue and chronic tendon issues) and cryotherapy (reducing inflammation and pain). Staff who receive regular treatment return to work faster, complete shifts with less discomfort, and are less likely to lodge formal claims. The average musculoskeletal WorkCover claim in Australia exceeds $15,000. A full trial day costs $950.
Yes. Cryo facials are available as a standalone service or as part of a corporate wellness event package. Mobile Cryotherapy has delivered cryo facial activations for L'Oreal Melbourne HQ and multiple corporate wellness days. Packages are tailored to the number of attendees and event format. Minimal setup required — a table, a chair or two, and the device. Can be done seated, standing, or lying down.
